CHINESE HERBAL REMEDIES
Chinese herbal remedies are an integral part of TCM.
There are over 4000 Chinese herbs including roots, stalks,
leaves, barks, flowers, seeds and minerals. Each herb is used for
specific purposes and perform particular functions. The TCM
practitioners normally prescribe each individual combination of
herbs, choosing up to 15 from a total of 400 to treat especially
you and your condition. Each prescription is therefore tailor-
made. The herbs are cooked and drunk as a decoction(“Tea”) or
taken in tablet form, to get to the root of the problem.
ACUPUNCTURE
This is an ancient Chinese therapy involving the insertion of
very fine needles into the body surface at strategic acupoints to
stimulate vital “energy points”, thus regulating the meridians or
channels of the body. The goal is to promote the circulation of
the blood and to unblock the stagnation of the so-called “Qi
(energy)” – “the vital force of the life” and re-establish this
energy balance. Acupuncture works through stimulating the body’s
healing responses and immune system. When the practitioner
carefully inserts the fine needles you may feel a slight tingling
and numb sensation, but you will feel very relaxed because of the
physiological chemical change. The practitioners will leave the
needles in place for about 20 to 30 minutes. The needles are
sterile and are used once only before safe disposal.
ACUPRESSURE
(Chinese Medical TUINA Massage)
It differs from western massage in that fingers and palm pressure
is applied using a wide range of techniques. It stimulates Qi
mobilization to regain Yin-Yang balance in certain parts of the
body, stimulate the flow of Qi and maintain general health.
CUPPING THERAPY
A therapy in which a jar is placed on the skin surface to cause
local congestion, through the removal of the air in the jar. This
method promotes the free flow of Qi and blood in the channels.
MOXIBUSTION
This is a TCM technique that involves the burning of mug-wort, a
small spongy herb, to facilitate healing. The purpose of
Moxibustion, as with most forms of TCM, is to strengthen the
blood, stimulate the particular points and activate the body.
EAR CANDLE
OTOSAN cones for ear care are made of natural fabric, wax and
bees-wax. It helps to revitalize the acupuncture points, enhance
the blood circulation and benefit auricular and overall health.
Ear candles is a delicate and non-invasive method for resolving
problems of ear hygiene safely and naturally.
ALLERGY TESTING
Using only a sample of hair, we can test your level of allergy to
over 300 everyday items including everything you are likely to
eat, drink, breathe or touch during the normal everyday run of
affairs. The test includes all food additives plus Vitamin and
Mineral deficiencies.
REFLEXOLOGY
This is the application of pressure, stretch and movement mainly
to the feet to generate a signal through the peripheral nervous
system that later relays to the internal organs and allocate the
necessary adjustment in fuel and oxygen.
